A picture is worth a THOUSAND words, but the memories are PRICELESS...
Why do I love photography?
Photography to me is like depositing something in a time capsule every time I press the shutter button.
It's a feeling I get when thumbing through the images, I can remember the smell, the temperature, the conversation. Photos are like hearing that old song, they take you right back to the moment in time, and when you send an old image to a friend, it's like its own form of communication, you don't even have to say a word, and they know what you are thinking.
I love that its a journey in time that travels with you
I love telling a story
I love the different emotions it evokes in a person when they look at a photograph
I love nailing the shot; it's a rush of perfection
I love the artistry freedom our technology allows us to play with an image
I love teaching others how to use their camera
I love learning new techniques
Probably, most of all, I love to look back and remember...
I feel its the most precious gift we can give each other, whether it's a blurred image from your iPhone taken at a concert, or a professional shot. They all mean something different to each of us. So keep shooting...
