About Leanna Slater Photography
My passion for photography began very early in my life, but it wasn’t until my son was born and after thousands of treasured photos, that I realized that life passes us by too quickly and having those moments to relive are so very precious. It was a “life’s whisper” that finally pushed me to share what I see through my lens. The joy I receive when a client tells me, ‘it's perfect, it is exactly what I was wanting to express!’, is indescribable for me to put into words. I guess that’s why they say, “a picture is worth a thousand words…”
I am truly passionate about relating to people and telling their story through my lens. It’s important to me that I work closely with my clients to create lasting memories. I strive to put people at ease, so that my client not only enjoy the final image, but also the photographic experience itself. My goal is to capture the distinct personalities of my subjects. I want to help them narrate moments in their life that will help them remember the little things, relate stories and feelings, and then be able to share them with people they love.

I think photography is so much more than just clicking the shutter button...it's a feeling of connection and letting people know...I see them...I hear them...
You see, I left the corporate world to find peace and true happiness and I knew I would through my photography. My wish is for every person I connect with to realize they are meant for something special in this world, no matter how small or big. I meet so many unique individuals and I love every one of their stories and pulling their personality out through my lens is what I'm most passionate about.
It is why I love shooting senior portraits the most. They are just beginning their journey, some know exactly what they want and others cannot decide, but to be able to listen to their struggles and ideas during our session is what I find so gratifying.

Volunteering...
I have enjoyed volunteering as the "TEAM PHOTOGRAPHER" for the MS WALK-DENVER at City Park. The day couldn't have been more beautiful as colorful Colorado showcased it's best. I met so many courageous folks, young and old! I honestly do not think my heart has been more full.
Donating to local High Schools...
One of my very favorites things to do is to donate my older equipment to the local high schools. It gives me the "warm and fuzzies" to walk in and go through all the equipment with the teachers. I know they are beyond grateful and that is why I do it.
